Kary Kramer and Sheila Johnson, members of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC), founded the Santa Barbara Studio of Music in 1990. Their success as one of the premiere Music Studios in Santa Barbara is evidenced by the outstanding achievements of their students. The appreciation of their many families has been enormous – here they are honored with a beautiful bench given by the families of 2006 during their Year-End Studio Recital . . .

Kary is a classically trained pianist holding an Artist Diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music. He attended the Music Academy of the West in ’84 and ’85, and is highly sought after as a judge for festivals & competitions throughout Southern California.

Besides teaching piano, Sheila has a background in art history and as an artist. She has been director of the Manné Gallery in Santa Barbara, assisted in training teenage docents at the De Young Galley in San Francisco, and has had several shows of her paintings in the Washingron DC area.
